The unfriendly economy, nasty weather,  investment thieves, and a host of woes plague the USA today. Many brothers and sisters in Christ are suffering the effects of these maladies. The Body of Christ, comprised of believers and followers of Jesus Christ, may not be equally affected, but we are equally concerned.

The Apostle Paul wrote to the Corinthian church (ie, those called by God for God gathering together in Corinth) to be sensitive to the needs of one another. They had been divisive and affected by the "party" spirit. No, I don't mean they partied alot. I mean they were divided into groups identifying with one leader or another - not unlike the divisiveness seen in our political party system. As such, the well-to-do were ignoring the needs of the not-so-well-off among them. In 1 Corinthians 12:25 and 26 the Apostle Paul urged the church with these words, "...that there may be no division in the body, but that the members may have the same care for one another. And if one member suffers, all the members suffer with it..." Using the human body as a model of the "body" of those in Christ, Paul, urges us to exhibit unity, compassion and ultimately service. In the context of spiritual gifts we are instructed to employ our gifts for the benefit of others.

We, at PrayerLink, pray for all of you to be encouraged in the Lord and to encourage others in the Lord. With so many affected by the problems of today it won't be difficult to find someone to lift up. Pray with them. Encourage them to join with others in the PrayerLink network. Forgive me if this sounds like a commercial. I don't mean it that way. There is much encouragement to my spirit to know others pray for me at the alert times. Many of you have told us that you, too, are encouraged to be part of a synchronized praying "body". I guess we can say that our PrayerLink devices and PrayerLink mobile are helping to bring coordination the the body of Christ as we turn our hearts toward the Lord at the same moments regardless of where we are, regardless of what denomination we affiliate with, or what color our skin is, or what political pursuasion we hold to. In this one thing, we can have unity, turning to the Lord at the same moments.

Please, be encouraged to know others are suffering with you and upholding you at the throne of grace.
